Father Mbaka says he is fufilled the truth is hitting the presidency
***maintains his position that Buhari is not fit to be President
Despite what seems like blackmail from the Presidency, spiritual director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, has maintained his position that President Buhari is not fit to rule Nigera again.
The fiery priest stated that he is not afraid of the presidency because he is happy the truth is hitting them.
“Buhari cannot do it again; health and age are not on his side,” Mbaka said.
“We need a stronger and an experienced goalkeeper in a time like this. If they want to put it that it was because of contract, let them come and build the highest university here and begin to mess up, I will still speak.”
He however admitted to leading three contractors to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Mbaka claimed he did not know the contractors before meeting them and that he only did after they told him they could help solve Nigeria’s security problems, The Punch reported on Monday.
“Yes, I led three security experts to the Presidency who offered to help salvage the security situation in Nigeria,” Mbaka said.
“I don’t know them, but they came to Enugu and pleaded for me to link them to government because of the level of insecurity and how Nigeria has been moving oil outside the country. These are the three people they rejected their offer.”
He said even if the Presidency built the biggest university in the world for him and he sees it derailing he will still say the truth to power.
Mbaka stated this while reacting to the Presidency’s allegation that he called for the resignation of the president because he was not given contracts.
The reverend, who supported Buhari during the 2015 and 2019 elections, had on Wednesday during his midweek ministration called for Buhari to resign over the rising insecurity in the country.
Mbaka stated that it was sad how Buhari could maintain grave silence in the midst of the killings and deaths in the country, insisting that he may have lost touch with realities.
Presidential spokesperson Garba Shehu in reaction said,
“An outsider distilling the avalanche of verbiage will be surprised that after supporting the President two times to win the Presidency, Father Mbaka has made a complete U-Turn, preposterously asking President Buhari to resign or be impeached,”
“Here is the point of departure: Father Mbaka asked for a meeting and to the shock of Presidential Aides, he came accompanied by three contractors. The President graciously allowed them in, and to everyone’s surprise, Father Mbaka asked for contracts as compensation for his support.”
Mbaka explained his own part,
“Somebody talked about giving me contract and I started laughing. I’m not here to defend any allegation. “Buhari government is not giving me money or contract. It is a laughable and childish accusation. It is a shame to whoever is saying that and to the people he is representing. “For the three men Shehu talked about, the contract they asked for was for them and not me. These three men had gadgets and facilities to handle insecurity during the first term of Buhari. “They said they had a platform to end insecurity in a month. I didn’t know these people. They just asked me to help them reach the government and I handed them over to the government.” “The cleric warned government against attacking those “who say the truth and tackle insecurity.”
“Be careful in your choice of words and be wise. If anybody says the truth, the person is a terrorist. I do my charity without their support. I thank (Governor Ifeanyi) Ugwuanyi who has created an enabling environment here for me.”
“Garba Shehu that is talking, the bandits can kill him too. No amount of security can save them if things get worse.
“With the support of the government of Enugu, God has given me the grace to do all my projects. If I can be doing this, the Federal Government should do more,” he added.
Mbaka deplored medical tourism by eminent Nigerians, querying: “How would a whole Nigeria not have a good hospital that our President will be flown out of the country for medical treatment?
Don’t pay lip service to resolution, South-South Study Group (3SG), urges Southern Governors
** demands for a referendum
The South-South Study Group, (3SG) has charged the Southern States Governors not to pay lip service to their resolution but ensure that it does not stop with the communique but backed with action to lift the lot of their people from the present servitude and disadvantages that they have been subjected to.
They therefore called for a national referendum to give political action to their resolution on restructuring and their common position against open grazing among others.
The group challenged the Governors not to allow themselves to be weighed down by politics of their party affiliations as they commended them for the far reaching resolution.
The 3SG, which is a network of some of the South-South’s leading professionals in the public and private arena, gave the indication in a statement they issued on Sunday.
The statement which was signed for the group by Otoks Dan Princewill further challenged the Southern governors against shying away from articulating the desires of their people in the competive environment between the large majority of progressively minded Nigerians and the few persons determined to foster regression.
Endorsing the intervention of the Southern governors, 3SG said:
“The timely intervention by the Southern Governors presents a watershed moment as the nation becomes a contested arena between the progressive will of the people and the regressive whims and caprices of a few.
“It is for this reason that the commendable display of astutely effective diplomatic effort by the Southern Governors across party lines emphasizes the urgency and need for relief as demanded by Southerners of all affiliation.
“On this note, the Southern Governors must realise that now more than ever, regardless of party affiliation, the citizens of Southern Nigeria look up to this collective body of Southern Governors to protect them from rampaging marauders and bandits, to push forward their collective interests and hold many more positive Conferences also involving other Southern stakeholders in the immediate future for the sake of the rapidly deteriorating national state of affairs.
“Nigerians at home and in diaspora are waiting on edge with baited breath in expectation that this presents hope for a new beginning.”
Affirming that the resolution of the governors on restructuring was explicit, the group said:
“The Communiqué of the Southern Governors explicitly explains what Restructuring entails; review of resource control, revenue allocation formula, strict adherence to federal character principles in appointments and the shared interests of the Federating States.
“It is pertinent to acknowledge that our festering national ills have been dramatically amplified by a current approach of gross insensitivity to the diversity and the multicultural nature of Nigeria. This complete neglect of the most primary characteristic of Federalism by the current Federal Government worsened the already festering national malaise.
“The solutions to our national problems arising from diversity and multiculturalism were clearly stated only with slight differences and variations in the national conferences of 1995, 2005, and 2014. Interestingly, the ruling party in its review of the National Question reaffirmed these same solutions based on the imperative of Restructuring.”
Open grazing ban by southern Governors a welcome development, says Aisha
A renowned activist, Aisha Yesufu has lauded the Southern governors for taking a bold decision in ending the menace of the herders in their region through the ban on open grazing.
The activist added her voice to the reactions that has trailed the resolution of the southern Governors through her twitter handle.
She said it is clear prove that the country does not belong to one tribe but that every tribe/region has a right to make decisions.
The Southern governors after a meeting in Delta State on Tuesday, banned open grazing in their domains.
This was coming just as Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state also made it clear that there is no going back on the implementation of the ban on open grazing as resolved by Southern governors.
He said he will implement ut to the later in Rivers Stater.
Aisha in a video on her Twitter page said: “ Dear Southern Governors, Una do well! For every North there is a South and no region has monopoly of being self centered and intolerant!
“We all can be crazy and everyone has a bed in a psychiatric hospital. Na who wan occupy am dey go there!
“I’m so proud of southern governors, let them keep making such decisions and having meetings and sending communiques.
“They think it’s only Northern governors that have a day in this country . There’s so much insolence and disrespect in this country.
“I see some people coming out to say the southern governors don’t have the right to make such decisions but yet hail northern governors for making decisions for their states.
