Kogi Government asks PDP to face its crises, mass defection

PDP should face their crisis and the mass defection that has hit their party through the ongoing membership drive of the All Progressives Congress. Their voice on the arrest of Austin Okai is mischievous, uninformed and misdirected.
Austin Okai is a citizen of Nigeria who has rights. But his rights stops where the rights of others start. Freedom of expression is not meant to jeorpadize and injure the integrity of others. If security agencies find his criticisms untoward and inciting, are we saying they do not have the power to arrest him for questioning? We don’t know if Okai is actually a PDP member because we have pictures of him in APC apparels. PDP’s accusation is a tyranny of freedom on its own.
As a government, we are in full support of thorough investigation into Okai’s activities, his inciting statements and his desperation to malign the person of the Governor and the integrity of the government. Citizens must begin to be held responsible for their actions and inactions.
Accusing the present administration in the state of tyranny is reckless as such claims are purile and unsubstantiated. People who offend the law must be made to defend themselves.
The present administration will remain committed to the anchors of democratic governance and free space with the belief though that every freedom demands responsibilities.
PDP leaders should not be jittery. Police investigations will reveal all they are hiding and the people of Kogi State will know the real enemies of the state. This government will not be cowed by social media propaganda. We know where we are coming from and we know where we are going. PDP leaders should tell us what they did with our Commonwealth for over 12 years. Corruption is more tyrannical than asking suspects to give explanations on their suspected crimes.
Kogi State will move forward.
Thanks.

Signed

Fanwo Kingsley
DG Media and Publicity to the Governor of Kogi State

Urging the Publisher of the online medium to show proof his allegation, SELF noted: “We strongly condemn the allegation leveled by Pointblanknews.com and its sponsors, this is highly condemnable and viewed as a sponsored plot to instigate hate against the Minister and derail his concentrations.

“This is ridiculous and belittling of Jackson Ude, the face behind this blackmail for being petty to the ground level for publishing tissues of lies about the persons of Timipre Sylva and Simbi Wabote.

“Nigerians should not believe this and throw it into the dust bin. It’s incumbent on all well-meaning Nigerians to support the positive drive of Minister and collaborate with him, towards the actualization of the onerous task at stake.

“Although Jackson Ude and his medium Pointblanknews.com are criminally known for thriving in the business of blackmail, especially against the officeholders from the Niger Delta region. But this forum will henceforth resist this criminality by deploying all known instrumental of law to fight the faces behind these tissues of lies.

“This Forum is using this medium to warn the likes of Jackson Ude to stay away from Nigeria and the South-south most especially if they are not ready to turn a new leaf because the business of blackmail has long become outdated and unpopular.”
