It’s written in the sky and it’s obvious in the minds of men that Senator Orji Uzor-Kalu is a man destined to do great things.

The Bible, our holy book in Numbers 23:8 also made it clear that any man whom God has blessed, no man can curse such a man.

So today, after the much failed efforts made to curse q man whom God has already blessed, that man is coming in to take his rightful place as our leader.

He’s the APC leader in the South East of Nigeria, he’s Abia State political leader no matter the party you belong and he’s the man whom everybody give the respect as Abia Original leader.

Many people not just those in APC have been calling upon him to come and take what rightfully belongs to him and they’ll not be disappointed because he’s coming.

For us in APC, today is the beginning of us reclaiming a state that we sincerely know we can do better and make better for our people.

The triumphant entry of Senator Orji Uzor-Kalu today into Abia is a mark of a new beginning because the breeze of change will take over from today in Abia.

We welcome him and we urge him to take his rightful place as we all will always follow where he leads.”

Activist calls for removal of Kogi HOS, NLC says continued stay illegal

By Friday Idachaba
Human Rights activist, Mr Idris Miliki, has called on Kogi Government to immediately remove Mrs Deborah Ogunmola as the state Head of Service (HOS) for perpetuating herself in office for two years after retirement.

Miliki who is also the Executive Director of Kogi-based Conscience for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution (CHRCR) made the call in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Lokoja.

The activist described the continued stay in office of the Head of Service as “fraudulent, illegal, unconstitutional, immoral, an abuse of office and unjustifiable.”

He called on Kogi state government which he described as “a product judicial process”, to immediately remove the HOS as every action carried out by her since the expiration of her tenure amounted to illegality.

Miliki also called on the the Organised Labour to ignore forthwith, in all ramifications, her directives and actions as the occupant of that office as doing otherwise would amount to perpetuating illegality.

In similar vein, Mr Onuh Edoka, chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) said Mrs Ogunmola had exceeded the statutory 35 years of service.

Edoka pointed out that it was ironical for Ogunmola to set aside the same circular she signed prohibiting contract appointments saying, “No retired civil servant would be given contract appointment.”

According to him, the HOS signed the circular herself and had now turned around to perpetuate herself in office claiming to be on contract appointment, an abnormality she sought to correct in the state civil service.

The labour leader therefore, appealed to Governor Yahaya Bello to appoint a new Head of Service to supervise the activities of the state civil service.

He explained that keeping Ogunmola in office, “when she would have retired two years ago” amounted to disservice to qualified and hardworking staff whose elevation her continued stay in office had hindered.

Edoka said Kogi state civil servants could no longer be ruled by a retired HOS saying, “There are many Permanent Secretaries and other qualified civil servants who can do the job even better.

“What we are saying is for the government to see reason with workers and do the needful by allowing her to commence her retirement”, Edoka added. (NAN)
